Holiday Beauty Prep Checklist

Here’s a “Beauty Winter-to-Holiday Roadmap” to get glowing, camera-ready, and resilient through the season.

1. Boost Your Skincare Game (Skin = the Canvas)

  • Hydration & barrier repair: Cold, dry weather in Utah can strip moisture fast. Use a hydrating moisturizer, ceramide or barrier serum, facial oils, and humectants.

  • Gentle exfoliation: Use a mild chemical exfoliant (AHAs, PHAs) 1–2× weekly to remove dead skin and smooth the canvas.

  • Eye cream / under-eye care: Puffiness from travel or late nights? Use a peptide or caffeine eye cream.

  • Overnight mask / sleeping mask: Seal in moisture and repair.

  • Facial treatments: Schedule an LED, hydrafacial, or gentle peel 1–2 weeks before big events (but not too close!).

  • Don’t skip SPF: Even in winter or under party lighting, UV still plays a role.

2. Base & Makeup That Lasts (From Day to Night)

  • Longwear foundation / cushion compacts

  • Primer + setting spray (look for “long-lasting,” “transfer-resistant”)

  • Cream + powder combo (cream blush or highlighter layered with powder helps longevity)

  • Multipurpose products: Lip + cheek stains or tinted balms are crowd-pleasers

  • Glow in moderation: Dewy / radiant finishes are trendy, but balance with mattifying touches to keep oiliness in check

  • Touch-up kits: Pressed powder, blotting sheets, mini lipstick or gloss in your bag

  • Eye makeup that holds: Use primer, waterproof liner, and eyeshadows suited for festive looks (shimmers, metallics, jewel tones)

3. Hair & Styling Essentials

  • Deep conditioning / hair masks (weekly)

  • Heat protection spray — if you're styling with wands, irons, blow dryers

  • Flexible hold finishing sprays / texturizing mists

  • Pre-styled “rescue” days: styles (braids, updos, sleek ponytails) that look polished but give your hair a break

  • Scalp care: Especially with hats or winter dryness; use hydrating scalp treatments

4. Nails & Hands

  • Hydrating cuticle oil / hand cream (reapply often)

  • Gel or shellac manicures last through holiday events

  • Neutral + festive combos: Metallic accents, glitter tips, or accent nails for holiday flair

5. Beauty Gift & Bundle Strategy

  • Curate holiday gift sets (skincare + travel size, lipstick + gloss combos, etc.)

  • Promote “Get Ready With Me” packages (makeup + hair) for parties

  • Offer mini treatments / express services (lash fill, brow lamination, express facial) as stocking stuffer gifts

  • Bundle deals help with revenue and get clients booking ahead
